Who am I?

My name is Axelle Raffin, I'm 35 years old, and I'm the founder of Mauliébris. I've always been passionate about fashion and luxury, fascinated by beautiful objects and timeless French craftsmanship. Two years ago, I decided to create Mauliébris to share some of this passion: hair accessories, a world where quality and craftsmanship are essential.

Why hair ornament?

For a long time, I had never really explored the world of hair ornaments. In France, this type of accessory is less valued in women's daily lives and outfits. Some foreign cultures, on the other hand, truly value hair accessories, and women use them as a fashion piece that is an integral part of their style.

In 2013, I began working for Maison Alexandre de Paris, and it was there that I discovered a unique craftsmanship, handmade in Oyonnax in the Jura region. I was fascinated by the meticulousness, quality, and beauty of the craftsmanship, and by the way some clients appreciate and cherish these pieces. It is this respect for a precious craftsmanship, little known in France, that has deeply influenced and inspired me.

How did the idea for Mauliébris come about?

Seeing this exceptional craftsmanship inspired me to reinvent the hair accessory for my generation. I wanted to create modern, contemporary, and versatile pieces, while celebrating the exceptional craftsmanship I discovered at Alexandre de Paris. Existing designs often seemed childish or too classic, and I wanted to offer creations that could be worn to the office, on a night out, or in everyday life, without ever looking too dressed up.

How did I build this vision?

To bring this modernity to life, I collaborated with a former Chanel jewelry designer to work on innovative materials (such as gilded brass), contemporary shapes (eyelets, rings), and an elegant, contemporary style. Each piece is designed so that the hair ornament becomes a true style object, celebrated by clients who appreciate design and attention to subtle detail.
